Lake Studies: an exploration of summer in oil is a series of paintings highlighting the overarching sense of nostalgia tied to the summer months.  More specifically, this body of work pairs colorful depictions of Hannah's romanticized personal experiences with more general reproductions of early outboard mechanics and traditional tackle tools and fishing equipment still commonly in use. Consumed with her dissection of the idyllic timelessness and relevance of the past in our modern world, Hannah is heavily influenced by the character illustrations and texts often found in vintage advertisments of boating equipment.  She has spent the past year developing this body of work for which she draws inspiration from the summers she spent in the Adirondack Mountains growing up. Happy to harness the vast inspiration her childhood summer days has provided, Hannah will continue to develop her exploration of the oil medium under this theme for some time.
